A Gift for your Gifts

I am wrapping up my busiest design year yet, and with multiple weddings and events booked for next year, I could not be more thankful for the ways my little business is growing and all the support from family and friends!! It is a true gift to be invited to be a small part in someone’s BIG day!

If you are like me and doing marathon gift wrapping this weekend, I wanted to give you a little gift for your gifts. These elegant and trendy Christmas tags to add to your gifts this season! If you have sticker paper, you can easily print and create sticker tags, or just print on regular paper or card stock and add a piece of (washi) tape, or punch a hole and tie some ribbon. I printed these on a metallic white stock and the shimmer makes the digital gold and rose gold metallics really gleam!

Let me know how you use the gift tags by leaving a comment below!

Spread the Love

Can you believe the first month of 2017 is coming to and end?! Things have been a little rough for humanity lately. Whatever your opinions are of where we are as a country right now, I pray that you would choose love! Listen to a neighbor, comfort the sick, thank a Veteran, help a single parent, visit the elderly, feed the hungry, forgive those who have hurt you, bless someone who feels lonely, send a note of encouragement to an old friend, pay for an extra coffee…choose LOVE!

I fell in love with this Valentine’s Day idea circulating on Facebook. Write out one positive thing about someone per day starting February 1st until Valentines day. This is a great idea for your kiddos,  your co-workers, valentines for school or church, teachers to hand out at school, for your spouse, heck, even the grocery store clerks! (seriously, my daughter knows about 3 of them by name at our local discount store and they so sweetly remember hers)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

We are 2 days away from Christmas! I don’t know where this year went. Don’t we say that about time so often? It just “flies”. My daughter is 5 this Christmas, so it’s really one of the firsts she going to remember forever. Although, she never forgets a.n.y.thingggg. *mom eye roll* I wanted so much to make this season the most wonderful time of the year! A time of giving, remembering and making new memories. I had a Christmas activity planned for each day of the month! I was kinda proud of myself, because I made the list back in November! However, we only  got to day 1. That’s right, ONE day out of 25!! Epic mom fail! After a bit of a self pity party, a few tears and some quite time, I felt like the Lord was whispering to my heart, “She’s what’s important”. I could try and fill our days with wonder and magical things, but really, it’s about just being with her. Letting her know in all the small ways how much she is loved and adored and treasured! Not just by her dad and I, but by her Heavenly Father! A Father who gave His Son for us. And that, is WONDERFUL!

If time has flown too quickly for you to get Christmas cards out, check out a free download christmascard2016.

I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, full of lots of small moments of love, grace and joy!

Happy New Year,
Ashley

Oh-So Thank-FULL

Yes, I know that’s not how you spell “thankful”. But, don’t you love when a word defines itself? No..just me? Well, I love this time of year. It reminds us to be FULL of thanks!! Oh my, there soo many reasons to give thanks!! I am thankful for this (very) small business! That I can be creative, take care of my family and get to know you and hear your love stories! Thank YOU for investing in small business and allowing me to create something unique for the special events in your life! I do not take the privilege lightly!

While the list of thanks could go on, I can admit that there have been seasons in my life where being FULL of thanks, was hard. If you are feeling that way this season, I get it! If by some chance you are reading this and need a reason to be thankful, put your hand over your heart and listen to the breath from your lungs…come on, listen a little longer…YOU are walking miracle!! Even in the deepest, darkest hurt and pain, there is reason to give thanks!

If you aren’t hosting Thanksgiving tomorrow and need a last minute thank you card, I’ve got you covered with this free download! thanksgivingcard
You really should just print a bunch and use them throughout the year!

Thanksgiving is one day a year, but each day we can choose to be FULL of thanks!! Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Moma

“Moma”. That’s what my daughter calls me (and how she writes it). It is a blessing to be a mother. Something happens when they hand you your child, a shift in the heart. Suddenly you are helpless, caring for a helpless being. Anything you thought you knew has instantaneously fled you! Being a mother has only strengthened my relationship with Jesus Christ. Without His example, without God’s redeeming grace, without His Spirit living in me, I am nothing. I am definitely a perfectionist! I try to lead that way with my design work, but when it comes to being a mother, I find I quite easily fail. Daily. Fear creeps in, comparison creeps in, inadequacy, yeah we are friends…but then I hear that whisper in my spirit…YOU ARE ENOUGH! YOU are exactly what YOUR child needs!! Not that other mom who works out every day with 3 kids, not the mom who is head of the PTO and full of great ideas, not the mom who makes gourmet meals and kids eat a perfect diet without you begging and pleading with them…YOU. You are who God has chosen to be the care giver this side of Heaven to HIS Child.

I know Mother’s Day can be a deeply sore day for many, many women. Women who have pleaded for a child, women who have given up a child, women who have lost a child, women who did not have a mother, women who had a mother who were absent or harmed them…I know Dear One! This post is for you too! Because as a WOMAN, YOU ARE ENOUGH! You are loved by a God who has counted every tear! Every hurt! And longs to bring peace and comfort to you, with the promise of Salvation! That transcends motherhood!

So no matter how you will spend your day tomorrow, may you be reminded of God’s great love for you as HIS child!!

It is finished

While I often say those words, “It is finished!” after each project with relief and sadness (seriously, I get sad because I TRULY LOVE working with each of my clients) these words hold more truth for me at this time of year. As we celebrate Easter this weekend, there will be baskets and candy, egg hunts and more candy, and of course a giant white bunny. Those things can be fun and make family traditions, but the true celebration and reflection of this holiday is not found in any of those things. It is found in those three words-IT IS FINISHED! No longer are we separated from God, the veil is torn, and we have a God that now LIVES IN US!! And that, my friends, is the greatest gift we can ever receive!

Those of you that are participating in the Instagram and Facebook contest, THANK YOU!! I can’t wait to see who the winners will be!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

God Bless,

Ashley
