Spread the Love

Can you believe the first month of 2017 is coming to and end?! Things have been a little rough for humanity lately. Whatever your opinions are of where we are as a country right now, I pray that you would choose love! Listen to a neighbor, comfort the sick, thank a Veteran, help a single parent, visit the elderly, feed the hungry, forgive those who have hurt you, bless someone who feels lonely, send a note of encouragement to an old friend, pay for an extra coffee…choose LOVE!

I fell in love with this Valentine’s Day idea circulating on Facebook. Write out one positive thing about someone per day starting February 1st until Valentines day. This is a great idea for your kiddos,  your co-workers, valentines for school or church, teachers to hand out at school, for your spouse, heck, even the grocery store clerks! (seriously, my daughter knows about 3 of them by name at our local discount store and they so sweetly remember hers)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

We are 2 days away from Christmas! I don’t know where this year went. Don’t we say that about time so often? It just “flies”. My daughter is 5 this Christmas, so it’s really one of the firsts she going to remember forever. Although, she never forgets a.n.y.thingggg. *mom eye roll* I wanted so much to make this season the most wonderful time of the year! A time of giving, remembering and making new memories. I had a Christmas activity planned for each day of the month! I was kinda proud of myself, because I made the list back in November! However, we only  got to day 1. That’s right, ONE day out of 25!! Epic mom fail! After a bit of a self pity party, a few tears and some quite time, I felt like the Lord was whispering to my heart, “She’s what’s important”. I could try and fill our days with wonder and magical things, but really, it’s about just being with her. Letting her know in all the small ways how much she is loved and adored and treasured! Not just by her dad and I, but by her Heavenly Father! A Father who gave His Son for us. And that, is WONDERFUL!

If time has flown too quickly for you to get Christmas cards out, check out a free download christmascard2016.

I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, full of lots of small moments of love, grace and joy!

Happy New Year,
Ashley
